2012 Solo & Ensemble Participants Announcement

FESTIVAL AUDITIONS
• Location:  UAA Fine Arts Building
• Times:  Thursday, May 10: 6:00 – 8:30 PM Vocal Solo only / Friday May 11: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm / Saturday May 12: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

COMMAND PERFORMANCE
•  Location;  East Anchorage High School Auditorium
•  When:  Saturday May 12 at 5:30 pm
•  Tickets available at audition site and door:  Adults – $10  Students – $5

APPLICATIONS DUE
2012 STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE MUSIC FESTIVAL APPLICATIONS are due as follows:
1. For Special Need Auditions (see Music Handbook pg 85 for details) applications and auditions are due by Friday, March 30, 2012. Students will be notified by April 15th as to whether or not they qualify to move on to the State Solo & Ensemble Music Festival in May.

2. For regions with Solo & Ensemble festivals in FEBRUARY and MARCH, applications are due by Friday, April 6, 2012.

3. For regions with Solo & Ensemble festivals held before APRIL 15th, applications are due by Friday, April 20, 2012.

4. For regions with Solo & Ensemble festivals held after APRIL 15th, applications are due by Monday, April 23, 2012.

Music directors will be notified of specific state audition times by Friday, April 27th. General auditions times can be noted on the Solo & Ensemble page listed under Schedule.

•  Thursday, November 15, 2012, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
•  Friday, November 16, 2012, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

DRESS REHEARSALS
•  Location:  West Anchorage High School
•  Saturday, November 17, 2012, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM

GALA CONCERT
•  Location: West Anchorage High School
•  When:  Saturday November 17, 2012 at 6:00 pm
•  Tickets available at rehearsal site and door:  Adults – $10  Students – $5

Anchorage School District to Host Music Festival for 2011, 2012, 2013

At the October meeting, the ASAA Board of Directors selected the ASD as host for the All-State Music Festivals in Anchorage for the next three years as follows:
•  2011 – East Anchorage High School
•  2012 – Chugiak High School
•  2013 – Bartlett High Schools
