STAFF MEMBERS

Billy Strickland – Executive Director

Billy is responsible for all ASAA operations, staff, finances, eligibility, waivers, and ASAA board relations. As ASAA’s liaison for the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), Billy serves on the National Federation Council. Billy currently serves as the Chair on the NFHS Basketball Rules Committee and on the NFHS Board of Directors. Additionally, Billy serves on the ASAA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.

Brian Hosken – Associate Director

Brian is responsible for officials and coaches certification, state championship officials selection and ejections. Brian is also responsible for grant writing and administrating.  He assists with ASAA coaches and activities director trainings.  Brian also represents ASAA on the NFHS Football Rules Committee. Brian coordinates Bowling, Esports, Gymnastics and Rifle.

Isaiah Vreemen – Associate Director

Isaiah develops all championship budgets, coordinates media relations, and manages ASAA365.com. He monitors and solicits championship bids and produces all state champion programs. Isaiah also coordinates Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Hockey.

Kathleen Navarre – Associate Director

Kathleen coordinates student government and assists in other ASAA programs. Kathleen consults with Special Olympics Alaska on the development and promotion of Unified Sports. She also coordinates Cross Country, Flag Football, Nordic Ski, Swim & Dive, Track & Field and Wrestling.

Sandi Wagner – Associate Director

Sandi is responsible for historical data, Alaska High School Hall of Fame, awards and serves on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. She provides support and trainings for the School Activities Reporting System (SARS). She is the NIAAA Liaison and provides training for both coaches and activities directors.  Currently Sandi represents NFHS Section 8 on the NFHS Coach’s Advisory, Spirit of Sport, Spirit Rules and Volleyball Rules Committees. Sandi also coordinates Cheer, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, and Volleyball.

Deanna Montagna – Director of Office Operations

Deanna manages office operations, assists Associate Directors and works with the Executive Director in communication to schools. Deanna provides support for the School Activities Reporting System (SARS) and is also responsible for All State Art Competition, DDF and World Language Declamation Competition. She is the secretary for the ASAA Board of Directors meetings and is charged with maintaining the minutes.

Brad Potter – Director of Technology

Brad is responsible for the design, development and content management of all ASAA websites, social media accounts, photography, digital media assets and related technology. He is also responsible for the IT management of computer systems, mobile communications, network infrastructure and provides technical assistance and training for the staff.

Colin Mcdonald – Director of Marketing

Colin leads the corporate sponsorship sales and fulfillment efforts by creating and maintaining relationships with both the ASAA staff and their corporate sponsors.

Kari McFeron – Administrative Assistant

Kari is part-time receptionist and helps with front office duties.

Barb Carroll – Music Coordinator

Barb organizes and administers the All-State Music Festival held in November and the State Solo and Ensemble Music Festival held in May. Her responsibilities involve overseeing the adjudication process, the student selection procedure, the daily festival activities, the culminating performances and any appeal actions for each of the two state music festivals with the high school music directors, adjudicators, conductors, accompanists, students and parents.

Jeanie Farley – Chief Financial Officer

Jeanie is responsible for all accounting-related activities including processing of all accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. She is responsible for preparing the annual operating budget as well and in house finance reports. Annually she assists the auditors with preparation of our financial statements.
