2010 RULE CHANGES
Beginning next track and field season, officials no longer will need to interpret the intent of hurdlers who knock over a hurdle by foot during the race. The competitor must attempt to clear the hurdle, but will not be faulted for knocking over the hurdle with his or her foot.  See other changes here

FAIRBANKS BID EXTENDED
The ASAA Board of Directors voted to extend the present contract for State Track to Lathrop for the 2011 State Championships.  Bids will be accepted next school year for future site locations.

STATE RECORDS FALL IN FAIRBANKS
Five new state records were set at the State Track and Field Championships in Fairbanks.

•  Lierin Flanagan (Kenai) in 4oo meters (55.95)
•  Keiahnna Engle (Dimond) in the 100 hurdles (14.90)
•  Morgan Dampier (Wasilla) in the 800 meters (2:13.95)
•  Kenai girls 4×400 Relay (4:01.72)
•  Service boys 4×800 Relay (7:54.39)
